Cody Bell shoved his hands into the pockets of his denim jeans as he walked out to the stables that morning, it had gotten down to twenty degrees last night and he wanted to make sure the horses were okay. As he entered the stables, the one thing he wasn't expecting to hear was a light laughter.

"Oh God, kindergarten flashbacks." Cody smirked, figuring it to be Brooklyn.

"I wasn't aware you were the type of guy that got teased." Came a light voice and Cody's eyes landed on Lulu Spencer, a fond smile spread across his face. Lulu had only been awake since roughly thanksgiving but, she had managed to steal Cody's heart in a mere two and a half months.

"Oh yeah, Dante and Brooke were my only friends. I was a...weird kid." Cody didn't want to elaborate on that subject, watching as she stroked one of the older horses.

"I was weird too, aren't we all? At least you had friends, I had to invent friends so people would think I was cool." Lulu laughed.

"Did it work?" Cody wondered, curious.

"It probably would have worked better if I hadn't picked the name Elvis." Lulu slightly cringed.

"Elvis...long live the king." Cody chuckled, fist bumping her. God, Dante would clown him so hard if he could see him right now.

"Has Dante warned you off yet?" Lulu smirked, knowingly.

"Believe it or not, yes. I'm not even supposed to be thinking about talking to you." Cody admitted, he'd never done well with authority.

"Well, it's no fun playing by the rules. See you around, Bell." Lulu winked at Cody, walking back up to the main house with a smirk.

"Yeah, see you around Spencer." Cody nodded, he'd definitely been looking for this woman his whole life, he'd have to break his word to his best friend...

"Alright dammit, alright. Whatever. Do what you want." Johnny Zacchara sweeps all of the paperwork that was on his desk onto the floor, while pressing the phone to his ear.

"Mr. Zacchara, don't take that tone with me." An English voice on the other end of the line clicked his tongue in disappointment.

"You don't tell me what to do, Nigel. This is my empire and I will run it how I see fit. Why don't you get in line with the rest of the motherfuckers waiting for me to give a shit? You are expendable... nobody would miss you. I'm trying to be a nice guy and overlook your disrespect but, I am not a patient man. You're walking a thin line, buddy." Johnny's vein was about to pop out of his neck, that's how agitated he was getting.

"Careful, don't have a heart attack." Came a familiar honey like voice from behind Johnny, one he'd fought so hard to forget.

"It sounds like you're very busy, Johnny. I'll let you go." Nigel's tone was curt and smart, knowing he was getting under Johnny's skin.

"It is Mr. Zacchara to you!!!" Johnny yelled into the phone, throwing it across the room as Lulu Spencer dodged the flying object.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Johnny snapped, not really mad at her but...the world was giving him the finger right now and he needed someone to take it out on.

"I'm fine by the way, thank you for asking." Lulu rolled her eyes, setting his phone on the desk and promptly going over to the bar to pour a drink.

"You didn't answer my question, Lulu." It had been so long since they'd spoken that her name felt foreign on his lips.

"And you didn't answer my text, Johnny. It seems like we're not answering each other a lot these days. Why are you avoiding me?" Lulu crossed her arms indignant, demanding an answer.

"Lulu, when have we ever been straight forward with each other? Not to mention, you're with a fucking cop and I'm a mobster. There's no leg room, I can't fucking talk to you anymore. I don't know who I'm talking to, you're practically a shell of yourself. I hate not being able to talk to the one person I genuinely enjoy being around." They were at a crossroads, just like they always were. When would they stop doing this dance?

"If you paid attention to anything other than your business, you would know that Dante cheated on me. I'm not Dante, I am me. You should be able to talk to me like a normal fucking human being! You've known me for five years Johnny, five years! I should mean more to you than that! Maybe I never knew you at all because you don't want me to! I know you're game, you want me to leave! Tough shit, my ass is staying right here until you say something that makes sense because I am not a cop. I am not a snitch, I've never once snitched on you to anyone. Not even Sonny, I always kept your secrets. If you enjoy being around me so much, why cut me out? Make it make sense, Johnny." Lulu tapped her foot in annoyance, anger flashing in her hazel eyes.

"Who am I, Maxie? I don't keep up with the gossip in this town. You couldn't even pay me to do that. Lulu, I'm not your boyfriend anymore. I don't have to say anything that pleases you." Johnny glared at her, knowing he was talking shit.

"Of course you would bring up Maxie, you just can't help yourself. Can you? Because that's who you always wanted, you just got stuck with me. I read you loud and clear, Johnny Zacchara. Go fuck yourself." Flew out of Lulu's mouth, knowing that she didn't mean that.

"You know that isn't true, Lulu. I don't know why you would even think that." Johnny was stumped.

"Know you know how it feels to be on the other side of your own temper, come find me when you get your head out of your ass." Lulu slung her purse over her shoulder, slamming the penthouse door.

"Anyone else would never hear from me again but, nobody else is Lulu. Oh God, I love digging holes for myself. Don't I? I am a glutton for punishment." Life was definitely having fun giving him the finger.

"You're the most important thing in the world to me." James West drawled, cupping his girlfriend's face after they had made love for the first time.
"You're just saying that because of...you know." Scout Cain blushed, her brunette hair hiding her blush.

"I'm not just saying that, I would tell it from the rooftop. I am the luckiest guy in the world. I get to call Scout Cain my girlfriend!" James laughed, kissing her cheek.

"You're such a dork, you're my dork." Scout smirked, kissing his lips once more.

"Our parents would kill us if they knew where we were." Scout smiled.

"Oh, I'm betting they've figured it out by know. Our parents aren't stupid, your mom is a private investigator." James chuckled, going to put on his boxers.

"Where are you going?" Scout whined.

"We should probably get back home, turn ourselves in." James shrugged his shoulders.

"I'm so grounded." Scout lay her head back on the hotel pillow.

"Trust me, I wish we could stay here forever but...we don't have that luxury." James sighed, he wasn't looking forward to going home.

"I know." Scout gave him a half smile, getting dressed into the clothes she'd discarded the night before. Maybe they'd be grounded for life but, at least they'd shared something beautiful.
